THE ITALUS RIDE

One of the clearest expressions of Italian culture is cycling.
We’ve come a long way since May 31, 1868, when Englishman James Moore won the very first cycling race in Paris—riding a wooden bike with solid rubber tires.

And while the first Giro d'Italia took place in 1909, originally organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport to boost newspaper sales, they've certainly boosted more than newspaper sales.

Today, Italy alone hosts over 100 Gran Fondos (long-distance, competitive mass-participation events) between February and October, and is known to have more than 24 million bicycles. Around 33 million people include cycling in their tourism, with 9 million identifying as "pure" cycle tourists.

Because Italy is a dominant force in professional racing and is a major hub for cycling tourism, even recognized with a "Giro Next Gen" Giro d'Italia race youth category, we're thrilled to take part and celebrate...

WITH OUR VERY OWN RIDE.
