but not all brands are alike and not many of them make their way to my table nearly as often as this one. I've been purchasing and enjoying Rustichella D'Abruzzo for many years and I say this with the utmost confidence; it's been perfect every single time I've cooked it.
I very recently had the opportunity to visit their facility in Pescara, Abruzzo Italy for an in depth tour to see and learn the process, and after speaking with the technicians who dedicate themselves to perfectly balancing science technology and tradition to producing a quality product, it's no surprise this brand is sold in more than 70 countries across the globe. It's also no surprise its this year's selected brand to sponsor MASTER CHEF ITALIA.
Why have I chosen to be an Ambassador for Rustichella D'Abruzzo rather than just continue to enjoy it at home?
For many reasons, it's BECAUSE I enjoy it that I want others to also enjoy it.
And what are some of those reasons?
• it's made by a generational family whose priority is to maintain the same integrity tradition and quality they began producing with in 1924.
• it's made with 100% Abruzzese - ancient Grano Marzuolo
• it's slow dried at extremely low temperatures for periods longer than 30 hours for a healthier lower gluten index result
• it's made naturally with no additives
• it's specialty flavours are real ingredients - not colorings (I've seen it with my own eyes)
• it's bronze extruded for a perfect sauce clinging texture
• it always cooks to a very enjoyable al dente
• its such high quality, gourmet and michelin chefs around the world use it on their menus
and perhaps one of the more personal reasons I love this brand is their incessant involvement. For every event hosted in any country their brand is sold, they are PRESENT and excited to showcase the very beauty of their collection.
I'm always so impressed that Stefania the owner is eager to fly wherever she can to share her genuine love of Rustichella D'Abruzzo.

When I visited Rustichella D'Abruzzo this past summer to learn more of what makes them distinct, I became more enamoured than I already was. I was given some packages of pasta to prepare at the Agriturismo I stayed at during my travels and, despite the owner making pasta fresh by hand for more than 50 years, he loved the quality of this brand. To hear the feedback really was a testament to how wonderfully this brand stays true to its tradition and high production standards. It's THAT good!!
